Perch is not the right answer for every desk, and pages like this are usually written as though it were. Each of these leads with the case for the other one. If you want months on a battery, or a mirror, or somebody else to run the service, the honest recommendation is on the page and it is not Perch.

You are building an actual mirror. Perch is a desk instrument; it will run behind glass, but nothing about it is designed for that and MagicMirror is.

You want it somewhere without an outlet. This is the whole point of the thing and Perch has no answer to it.

You want zero maintenance. Somebody else runs the service, and that has real value.
